“COMMUNICATE, TAKE A STEP BACK AND COMMIT.”
NEW LPG NEWSLETTER
I am so happy to have met all of you at the LPG Luxury Showplace for 2018. There were so many great ideas that came out of those meetings, and so much ahead of us to work on. I challenge all of you to make a few simple changes in 2018 to help your bottom line and the good of all independent showrooms.
First, communicate. Be sure to communicate with your team. I will be sure to communicate more with you. The revamped LPG News, formerly known as Kitchen and Bath Enthusiast, will roll out monthly to encompass all of the changes happening rapidly in this group.
Second, take a step back and ask how you are measuring performance in your showrooms. The only way you can improve is to measure what is important to you and create performance metrics around it. We are all accountable for sales, in some way. Make sure you communicate those performance metrics to your people as well.
Third, please, commit to training your team in 2018. While I am working on a common spot on the LPG website for 2018, you can’t afford to wait for me. Sharpen your skills and the skills of your team to make your customers nd value in you.
Most of us make resolutions at new year’s. I have made several, from the usual exercise and losing weight, to trying to become a better listener, taking on a bigger role in my community, and just trying to be a better person. I plan on taking the 3 changes and making them part of my routine and resolutions as well.
