A MESSAGE
TO SHOWROOM EMPLOYEES
This article on spiffs (beginning on page 20) is in no way about reducing your income or taking something away from you.
If spiffs were to go away, and the funding used in the right way, a number of things would happen:
• Your showroom pro tability would rise
• Displays would be improved
• There would be a deeper bottom line for the owner of your showroom,
which undoubtedly, the owners would take notice
• Your overall income/ pay structure would change, and you would
likely be paid the exact same amount you make now, in total.
I would rather see you paid based on what your owner determines
as your top performance — and be able to hit a consistent target salary — than have to depend on spiffs to generate income, which are inconsistent, non-taxed, and leave you with uncertainty.
