There are roughly 50 employees throughout the
company, with an average tenure of 20 years — and with a very low turnover rate, some of their team have been dedicated to the company
for four decades. Part of the reason for that low turnover is the atmosphere the Hulbert family have built at the company. It’s a casual, family-like environment that doesn’t create
a line between family and non-family staff. And within the family itself, they’ve learned to keep business conversation at the of ce and concentrate on spending quality time together as a family when they are away from work.
GAINING KNOWLEDGE
Allison, who was recognized by this year’s Supply House Times annual Women in Industry list, had just graduated from college when a position opened up in the showroom at Hulbert Supply in Plattsburgh.
