Weinstein said. “They aren’t something people switch out regularly. Our products have a very crisp styling, with sharp details and typically
a modern/contemporary design. We’ve
been focused on having conversations with showrooms and the design community as we develop some new product styles.”
Weinstein said that Franz Viegener appreciates the opportunity to work with the LPG showrooms, and help them be comfortable selling luxury products. “It’s very different selling true luxury products than what many showrooms are used to,” he said. “So we want to do everything we can to support them. One of the biggest is helping raise their ability and comfort in the luxury sales process. We also want to support them with displays and design.
“It’s also really helpful to look at how luxury products are marketed in other industries. Just as there is a difference between Tiffany and Kay jewelry or Mercedes and Chevrolet vehicles, there is a difference in decorative plumbing showrooms, their clientele, sales staff and hours. It takes a real desire and commitment. Selecting the right showroom manager is important, too. Beyond knowing design,
they need to know how to run a business. Sometimes it’s better to nd someone from outside the industry who has luxury retail
experience. My best advice — if I was a showroom owner today, I would plan a trip to visit ve to eight of the best showrooms in the U.S., to nd out what they do well, and what mistakes they’ve learned from.”
When describing what sets Franz Viegener apart in the market place, Weinstein summarized it
as “Our overall quality and our dedication to independent brick and mortar showrooms, as we don’t sallow sales online nor even the posting of a list price. We also promote our policy of a UMRP and keep the distribution very limited.”
He went on to note, “Our products have a nish on them that is unlike anything else in the industry. It’s very different in look and quality; according to the engineers, it is because they are using a heavier and better grade of brass. The supply lines contain a conical screen to avoid debris from un ushed lines from fouling the cartridges. The faucets’ valves can be hand tightened and rmly fastened underneath using only a Philips head screwdriver and avoiding the need for a basin wrench. Aerators are recessed for beauty and vandal resistance. Each of these details matter and collectively, they add up to great value for all parties connected in the process.”
