SIXTH STOP
Next it was off to Flow Design Studio, where it was Rachel Lucks-Hecht’s birthday! It was so great to be there on a day where you can see the real company culture – the employees had a cake and surprises ready!! Two things I can say about this place:
• The employees were all engaging, friendly and, you could tell, professional designer types
• And of all places I have been, this is by far the best use of 3,500 square feet. Period.
Best yet, Rachel had the idea herself – and she built the angle-iron rooms locally. It is narrow in scope, clean
and shows carefully selected product for her market that makes all the world of difference here. They can hit the luxury customer and the mid-price point customer easily, and have the “experience” essentials I always talk about
– a full refrigerator of wine/ beer, good coffee and snacks in a kitchen. They have space for designers to work, and they score on being able to see the entire showroom perimeter from the entryway. I learned so much here, and plan to make this part of my “destination” showrooms in the future. One more thing – and pay attention to this – their website “exactly” feels like their showroom. This is so important to the success of all our showrooms.
