We are living in a time when there are more people in need than ever before. Whether it is helping with an act of kindness or an act of a donation, working in your community makes the world a better place.
Please consider being innovative in how you help your community, and most importantly share it with us, so we can all grow as a group. Thank you so much.

Child Advocates of Placer County
Wendy Rubiano-Cox is a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for the Child Advocates of Placer County, CA, and has spent decades working in showroom sales, most recently at General Plumbing Supply, a member of Luxury Products Group.
Being a CASA gives Wendy the privilege of getting matched with a child in the system (ex: foster care, especially high risk for sex trafficking or who have been trafficked) and allows her the opportunity to develop a relationship of trust so that she can advocate for their needs in the courts.
Social workers have hundreds of kids they are responsible for so CASA volunteers have one specific child assigned to them and help take some of the load of social workers and allows us to develop a deeper relationship with the child in need.
Wendy Rubiano Cox has been with General Plumbing Supply for years. Wendy has a passion for design and has her Interior Design Certificate. She has been working in showrooms since she was 17.
“I love the one-on-one time with my clients. Being able to help them pull together their dream bathroom and kitchens is very rewarding. Giving back is also important to me. Being a CASA allows me the privilege of getting matched with a child in the system and the opportunity to develop a relationship of trust so that I can advocate for their needs in the courts.”

Catholic Charities of Long Island
Green Art Plumbing Supply is one of the largest NYC/Long Island Wholesale distributors of plumbing parts and fittings and a proud member of Luxury Products Group.
Green Art recently hosted a Holiday Toy Drive at all Green Art locations in time for Christmas for the Catholic Charities of Long Island. Both employees and customers were able to donate a wide variety of gifts at all of our showroom locations. The toys were then donated to the charity and distributed to the children of Freeport during the holiday season. Their HQ is based in Freeport so they have directly helped the community they operate in.
“Here at Green Art, we think it’s the responsibility of every company to give back to the community they operate in. We have always been committed to making our local community a better place to live because when it comes down to it, it’s our home too. We take pride in servicing our local customer base and understand how important it is to work with other local organizations to support the community we cherish so much. It’s all about doing your part as a business. The sense of gratification you and your employees will receive is something you simply can’t put a dollar value on .”

Naomi J Anderson
Showroom Coordinator
Habitat For Humanity & Children’s Hospital Heart Center
She is privileged to be a part of the Habitat for Humanity Board. Naomi accepted the position back in 2020 right as COVID hit. During this time it was challenging to continue to meet with families. Thankfully, she and Habitat have continued to move forward connecting with families via Zoom and finding new ways to work together and give back.
Naomi is also a “heart mom” to three boys, two having unrelated congenital heart defects with a combined total of having 5 heart surgeries. Naomi has had many years of past connection being part of the American Heart Association.
After serving 7 years on the Siouxland Children’s Hospital Heart Committee she chose to step down, only to have a two-year break. The children’s cardiology team asked if she would return to be part of their family committee for the heart families of Children’s Hospitals, specifically in Omaha. She could not turn them down.
Naomi shared that it’s been great to give real-life accounts to other families through her own journey. Naomi then shares how great God is and how there are real-life miracles still today, as her children are walking miracles.
“Once our family was told to pray as all odds were against our children. Now I am able to share how great they are doing and words of HOPE for others. We have had multiple events like wine tastings to raise monies for various heart charities and hope to do that again through Central Kitchen once COVID calms and allows us to again. I am very fortunate to work for a company that pushes its employees to give back to the community.”

Long Island Cares & Services for the UnderServed
Infinity Drain, the manufacturer at the forefront of architectural and decorative drains for both indoor and outdoor applications, has partnered with Services for the UnderServed (S:US) and Long Island Cares to prepare and serve hot meals as well as collect and donate dry goods for members of their local community.
“What began as an effort to provide personal protective equipment for our employees at the start of the pandemic, quickly transformed into a much larger endeavor to serve our community,” states Jonathan Brill, Infinity Drain President. “We joined forces with other local businesses to order 40,000 masks, sold what we had leftover and donated those profits to local organizations.”
Quickly recognizing a greater need in the surrounding neighborhoods, not only for PPE but for food and comfort as well, Infinity Drain partnered with S:US and Long Island Cares to give back in a much larger way.
“We’re grateful for the generosity of Infinity Drain in providing hot homecooked meals to the most in need families served by S:US on Long Island. COVID-19 has weakened the safety net for vulnerable New Yorkers and these times are especially challenging for those who have lost their jobs. S:US is helping thousands of New Yorkers during this crisis, thanks to the support of partners like Infinity Drain. Jonathan Brill and his team have been absolutely wonderful and everyone is a pleasure to work with, including their kind and talented chef,” said S:US Chief of Staff Judith Jackson.
“There’s a lot of food insecurity happening right now on Long Island. Many people don’t know when or where their next meal is going to come from,” continues Brill. “We wanted to make life a little easier for folks during these hard times, so we began preparing boxed lunches in the BBQ truck we use for trade shows. And now, we cook three times a month in a commercial kitchen we established in our warehouse.”
Since the start of the pandemic, Infinity Drain has prepared over 200 meals per week for churches, homeless shelters and veterans. They also teamed up with S:US to plant an urban garden, host a bicycle drive as well as a food and coat drive.
